This book is an excellent guide and help for young boys and Cub Scouts preparing to enter the Boy Scouts of America.

I thought after making it through my first 2 years as a cub scout mother that I maybe had a handle on things were supposed to work. I found out after reading through this book that I do not know what's up. I found this book to be thouroughly confusing and frustrating. I'm sure it will take me this entire 10th year of my son's life to understand it.

This is the new requirements for Webelos. The old book was really outdated and needed a good revision. As all BSA books I found it very easy to read and understand. Great resource not only for scouts but really everyone.

I'm a webelos mom and the den mother to our troop. I have this handbook almost memorized inside out and backwards. Great thoughts and helpful hints on making our meetings productive. Now... if I could just get the boys to read it. LOL!

There is a lot of diverse stuff here. The sky is the limit for what this age can do and learn.

I am an assistant den leader. I don't know much about scouting and so I was trying to read the book so that I could get some idea what I was doing. I think that it is still clear as mud!

Did you know that Cub Scout handbooks are available online? Find out how to get them as well as why a leader should have an electronic copy.

If you have the 2015 version of the handbook, you can download (or print) the addendum with the current requirements.

Electronic Versions of Cub Scout Handbooks

People often search for a pdf or electronic version of the Cub Scout handbooks. I’m excited to tell you that BSA has made the new Cub Scout handbooks and leader guides available in a Kindle version.

If you don’t have a Kindle, don’t worry! There are free Kindle reader apps available for your tablet, smartphone or computer! Just click on over to Amazon to download them. I’ve been reading Kindle books on my iPad for years.

I love the fact that the new Cub Scout handbooks downloads are now available! As a Cub Scout parent, it’s great to be able to look up a requirement quickly.

And as a den leader, you can make sure you’ve covered all of the requirements if you don’t have your book handy.

Now, I don’t believe that these should take the place of the hard copy of the book for the boys, but it’s great to have the information available at your fingertips.

Right now, use caution if you want to order the hard copies of the handbooks from Amazon. Most (if not all) of the physical handbooks being sold on Amazon are through third party sellers, and many of them are still selling the old handbooks.

You want to make sure you get the new 2018 Cub Scout handbooks. They’re the ones with the plain covers.
