Mesmerize is an R&B/Hip hop song by American rapper Ja Rule, released in December 2002 as the second (2nd) single from his fourth (4th) studio album The Last Temptation.

Just like his 2001 hit single Always On Time, the song features R&B/Pop artiste Ashanti and was produced by The Inc.’s Irv Gotti.

Mesmerize peaked at number two (2) on the US Billboard Hot 100, at number two (2) on the US Billboard Hot Rap Songs and at number five (5) on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

'Always on Time' is a song by American rapper Ja Rule from his third studio album, Pain Is Love. Produced by Irv Gotti, it was written by 7 Aurelius, Ja Rule and Irving Lorenzo and features R&B singer Ashanti. Originally set to feature Brandy,[1] the song was released as the album's second single and became a worldwide hit, becoming Ashanti's first Billboard Hot 100 number one single and Ja Rule's second.

The song spent two weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 from February 23, 2002. It was followed by another Ja Rule duet, 'Ain't It Funny (Murder Remix)' by Jennifer Lopez, featuring Ja Rule. In 2009, it was named the 33rd most successful song of the 2000s, on the BillboardHot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.[2]
