A nova versão de Doctor Who é na verdade uma continuação da série de ficção científica de mesmo nome, que foi ao ar entre 1963 e 1989. A história gira em torno de um viajante do tempo e do espaço conhecido apenas como “Doctor” (Doutor) que viaja a bordo d a TARDIS – Time And Relative Dommensions In Space (Tempo e Dimensões Relativas no Espaço) -, sua nave cuja aparência externa se assemelha a uma cabine da polícia londrina da década de 1960. Juntamente com seus companheiros, Doctor explora espaço e o tempo, corrigindo males e resolvendo problemas. Cada temporada inclui várias histórias individuais ou de múltiplas partes, apenas ligadas entre si por um enredo secundário que apenas é revelado no fim da temporada.

Sherlock Season 1 (2010)
Sherlock is a British television series produced by Hartswood Films for the BBC, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson. It airs on the BBC in the UK, and on PBS in the USA. It was created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. The producers are Sue Vertue and Elaine Cameron and the executive producers are Beryl Vertue, Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, Bethan Jones and Sue Vertue.
Season One deals with Dr John Watson meeting Sherlock Holmes, their developing friendship, and how they begin to investigate crimes together. John evolves from being a traumatised war veteran into a bit of a hero
